Sending KRW to Vietnam: Compare Fees and the Amount Received

The short answer

Compare the VND expected to arrive for the same total KRW outlay, not just an advertised transfer fee. The applied exchange rate and intermediary or recipient costs can change the result. This tool compares quotes you enter; it does not fetch live rates, name the cheapest provider or send money.

Independent information. No account, credit or transfer outcome is guaranteed.

A zero fee does not describe the whole transfer

A fee headline leaves several questions unanswered: the exchange rate actually applied, costs charged to the sender and costs deducted along the transfer route. Also check whether the recipient receives VND or another currency. Two offers are not comparable merely because both use the word remittance.

Hana Bank's official fee guide separates transfer channels and cable fees. Its overseas-transfer FAQ explains that intermediary and recipient-bank charges can differ. We use that explanation of the cost structure, not the historical FAQ prices as a current Vietnam quote. Always inspect the selected service's final confirmation screen for the actual terms.

Set the same total budget and payout method

If quote A sends KRW 1 million plus a fee while quote B spends KRW 1 million including the fee, they use different budgets. Start with the total amount leaving your Korean account. Separate the money exchanged from the KRW costs paid by the sender. In this calculator, the budget includes those costs.

Compare the same recipient currency and payout method, such as a Vietnam bank-account deposit. Cash collection or another payout route may have different requirements and timing. Check recipient and bank details directly with the service, but do not enter names, bank account numbers or identity information into this website. The tool needs amounts only.

Keep these facts separate

Total KRW outlay
Principal plus the sender's KRW costs.
Applied rate
This tool uses VND per 1 KRW, not the inverse.
Additional VND costs
Only costs not already reflected in the quoted rate or amount.
Unknown costs
Unknown is not a confirmed zero; the comparison stays provisional.
Quote timing
Match validity, recipient currency and payout method.

Keep the rate unit and fee treatment consistent

The rate input means VND received per one KRW exchanged. A quote expressed as KRW per 100 VND cannot be entered unchanged. Confirm the unit and use the rate the service will actually apply, not a market headline rate or a percentage discount. A unit mistake can overwhelm any genuine fee difference.

If a quoted received amount already includes a cost, do not deduct it again. The model subtracts KRW fees from the total budget, multiplies the remaining principal by VND per KRW, and subtracts only additional VND costs not already included. An unknown charge is not a confirmed zero. Leave the cost-confirmation checkbox unticked when anything remains uncertain.

Worked example with fictional quotes

For a KRW 1,000,000 total budget, suppose A charges KRW 5,000, applies 18 VND per KRW and has no additional VND charge. The estimated result is VND 17,910,000. Suppose B has no KRW fee and applies 17.8 VND per KRW: the result is VND 17,800,000. Under these fictional assumptions, A produces VND 110,000 more.

This example is arithmetic, not a current market rate or a provider recommendation. A different rate or an additional recipient cost could reverse the ordering. Before confirming a transfer, compare the total debit, applied rate and received amount on the official service screen. The live calculator starts blank so that an example is not mistaken for today's quote.

Compare two KRW → VND quotes

Amounts stay in this browser tab. No names, accounts or financial inputs are stored or sent. This is arithmetic, not a tax assessment or a live quote.

Your evidence checklist

  • Korea-to-Vietnam direction, VND payout and delivery method
  • Total KRW debit including fees
  • Actual applied rate expressed as VND per KRW
  • Already-included costs versus unknown additional charges
  • Quote expiry, arrival estimate and correction/cancellation terms

When the transfer has not arrived

Payment taken, transfer processing and recipient paid are distinct statuses. Check the transaction reference and the service's official progress screen. Look for a request for identity or source-of-funds evidence. Before paying again, establish whether the first transfer failed or is still processing so that you do not accidentally duplicate it.

Potential checks include recipient-name or bank-detail mismatches, holidays in either country, cut-off times and additional verification. Correction and cancellation windows depend on the service. Use its official support route and independently verify any message asking you to send an extra payment to a personal account. A delayed status alone does not establish where the problem occurred.

Repeat the comparison when your next transfer is due

Last month's better quote need not remain better today. At the time of sending, compare two current official quotes for the same budget and record the time, currency, payout method, expected arrival and any unknown charge. Re-enter the figures if a quote expires or a discount condition changes. This page does not lock a rate for you.

Privately compare the eventual received amount with your expectation to understand unexplained costs. The calculator is not connected to a bank and does not determine available transfer limits or eligibility. Confirm registration, residence classification, identity checks, limits and supporting documents with the official bank or registered service you choose. No funds are handled here.

Frequently asked questions

Is a zero-fee quote always better?

No. Compare the applied exchange rate and intermediary or recipient costs using the same total KRW budget.

Does this calculator fetch live exchange rates?

No. Enter the rate and costs from the official quotes you checked. It does not establish current market prices or a cheapest provider.

What if I do not know the recipient fee?

You can calculate a provisional amount, but do not mark the costs as fully confirmed. Unknown charges can change the comparison.

Does this cover Vietnam-to-Korea transfers?

No. This page models KRW spending in Korea and VND receipt in Vietnam. The reverse direction needs a new check of services, units and fees.

Can I send money through this page?

No. We do not receive funds, transfer money or broker remittances. Use the official bank or registered service you independently verify.
